KIX Launches Asian Combat Sports Timebelt with New TopKing World Series

Hong Kong (March 5, 2018) – Celestial Tiger Entertainment (CTE), operator of the largest bouquet of pan-Asian channels dedicated to Asian entertainment, announced today the launch of its Asian Combat Sports timebelt on action entertainment channel KIX. Effective March, Mondays at 10pm, the Asian Combat Sports timebelt presents top Asian-focused mixed martial arts (MMA) and championship fight events including a new Muay Thai tournament, TopKing World Series.

“We are delighted to give fans an exciting Muay Thai programme in our Asian Combat Sports timebelt,” said Betty Tsui, Vice President, Programming – KIX and Thrill, Celestial Tiger Entertainment. “Combat sports programmes are a consistent favourite among viewers, driving the success of our strong performance. Asian audiences are huge fans of action-packed fight events, and we promise to keep bringing in more high-quality programmes with intense action to satisfy their demanding appetite.”

TopKing World Series is a world-class Muay Thai tournament featuring 16 of the best fighters from around the world. Following standard Muay Thai rules, each single-elimination tournament begins with two matches featuring eight fighters. Winners advance to the semi-finals and then the finals. Every win in any of the tournaments bring fighters one step closer to the title of TopKing World Series Champion.

This March, KIX premieres TopKing 17, where Yodwicha goes head-to-head with 15 of the best Muay Thai fighters from other major tournaments. The final fighter left standing will be ultimately crowned as the King of Muay Thai in the 70kg weight class, and take home over THB 5 million!

In addition to TopKing World Series, the Asian Combat Sports timebelt also features renowned Korean MMA promotion Road Fighting Championship, and a rising Chinese kickboxing and MMA promotion Kunlun Fight MMA.
